Our friends from Foreign Family are having a pop-up gallery opening party this Saturday, 5/10. If you're anywhere near LA, meaning a 2-3 hour drive, trust me, it'll be worth it. I saw Mr. 44 throw up a piece in collaboration with Swarovski at last year's MAGIC, and it was fire!

Quick update for Pacific Northwest (PNW) fashionistas. As many of you know H&M will be arriving to the Seattle area soon. Looks like the Southcenter store will open this summer, followed by the other two, U-Village and Downtown, this fall.

The 25,000 square foot store at Southcenter will be a "full-concept" store that will offer clothing and accessories for men, women, teens and children. The other two will focus on a few segments such as teens and women; 19,000 square feet at U-Village and 16,000 square feet Downtown.

It doesn't stop there though. There's speculation that H&M will open additional stores in the region; specifically, somewhere on the Eastside. No specific date has been announced.

If you can't wait there's good news. Our friends across the border, up north in Vancouver, will have their own H&M opening on May 22.

Get ready for battle all!

I saw this sign at a truck stop on my way to Spokane a few weeks ago, "100% Natural Soy." What is? The iron skillets? The steel leaf mold? The recycled paper? Oh, must be the Formica tabletop! lol

Are you skinny enough to fit into your sister’s skinny jeans? I know for a fact that my sister’s would still be big on me.

Due to the constant shrinking sizes in menswear and the weight battle for women, this article ran in Australia about unisex brands. We already know about Cheap Monday jeans being genderless, and I know one or two guys that get their jeans in the women’s section of Diesel (it’s cheapers too!). But not every man is a size 26/27 or less. Occasionally, you get that girl that has the Dior blazer you tried on, and it’s not her boyfriend’s. Or, the girl that gets her laced shoes from the Ferragamo men’s section.

Since fashion, for those who see it, know that is only determined by style, I think gender is in fact another label you can add to the mix; as long as you are wearing it well. In this case I should mention Prada and the fall winter collection that has me wishing for those shirts and collars. The tutu is still in doubt.

Seattle-based skate brand, Manik, paid tribute to Seattle’s own Chinatown, affectionately known to locals as the “ID” (International District). They came out with a 5-deck series that highlights S. King Street. In particular, one deck shows the Four Seas restaurant.

The SOY boys have been regular patrons of Four Seas since we started. The food itself is marginal at best, but we’re always guaranteed a table and more importantly, a parking spot. If you ever meet up with us it's almost a sure bet we'll be meeting here...dinner's on Jimmy.

Her name was “Special T” when I first met DJ Tina T; I vaguely recall a small Mixwell party at the Weathered Wall in Seattle. Tina has been a supporter of SOY since day one.

She has since moved on to Los Angeles, and now, Las Vegas, and has developed quite a successful DJ career in the process, and hobnobbing with the likes of DJ AM and Steve Aoki. Tina has worked with countless celebrities, companies, events, and venues; too many to mention here. But you don’t get DJ gigs like these without having mad skills. Trust me, her game is on point.

These days Seattle isn’t part of Tina’s regular rotation, but she occasionally spins in the great Pacific Northwest once in a while. In fact, she’ll be spinning this Thursday, April 24^th, for DList Magazine’s 1-year anniversary. Welcome home Tina T…even if it’s only for a minute.
